Kites!!!

Well we got the kite out the other day while it was nice weather. Little honey is in love with his kite! This was the best gift he has ever received! And a decent price - which I will explain later... He is intently trying to hold on to the string. Momma was not allowed to hold on!!
It danced and swayed and then it would plunge down to the ground - but very easy to get it up again. Not like when I was a kid and you had to run for ever to try and get the wind to pick up your kite. My dad used to take us to the park and have Kite days with our church. I don't remember making the kites, but I do remember helping tie on the "bows" to the tail of the kite. I think my brother or sister would help him make the kite. Too bad we don't have any pictures of those days!
Well this is the last shot of the day as the kite swayed closer and closer to the house. I'm sure you can imagine where this is going... Well it got stuck on the gutter, I was able to pull it free. Then it got stuck on a shingle on the edge of the roof. When I tugged it lose the tail fell off and stuck to my roof!! I should have gotten a shot of that! The kite worked for a few minutes longer - just not as pretty without tail strings. Again little honey insisted he hold onto the string. I tried to get him to walk to the end of the street where there is an open field - but no he is very persistent in how he wants things!! The kite got attached to our little tree in the side yard. It is small, only about 10 feet high, but enough to get a kite stuck in!! Needless to say the kite was a gone. I rescued it with the ladder, but the string broke. So off to Wal-Mart we went to get another kite! Wal-Mart had them on sale for a dollar!! I could not believe it! At Target they were $3.99! So bargain we got!! And he was able to pick out what kite he wanted - he picked Cars! I was not surprised. (by the way, the kite strings finally blew off my roof the next day!)

I've been missing!

I've been missing from the computer world....I'm OK, just busy and not in the mood to sit at the computer for any extended period of time. In-laws came in town last weekend and we finally had the bridal shower for my cousin. I received the items I won last month and put them to good use. Very happy!! This is what I started with - two tiles, one plain white and the other this pretty stone.

This is the first vinyl after attached - Black vinyl on solid white tile - Isn't she going to have a great new last name?? It wasn't that hard to do, but easier with someone helping to hold the tile down. If you were putting the vinyl on the wall you could easily do it yourself with out help. Here is the second one - This print was in Chocolate Brown. I think it turned out great on the stone tile. (I also got this one in Black - for either my house or another gift - I can't decide.) I had already attached hangers to the back of the tiles the day before so they would be ready to hang in their new place after the wedding. If you like these prints, check out Word Candy Vinyl. Go check it out- she has lots of other neat stuff to put on your wall. The wedding is coming up fast. June 6th! Did I mention my cute little honey will be the ring bearer? I am excited and nervous for him all at the same time. Will he walk down the aisle? Or will he throw a fit and scream or cry or jump and be hysterical?? I have no idea - but pictures will be included. A. - I hope you enjoy the gifts and I hope my little honey will be decent for your wedding!!

Hope you had a Happy Easter!

Out of town and hoping everyone had a wonderful day. Rainy here and driving - not my favorite combination. Enjoy!!

cooking up a storm and lots of pictures...

Lots of cooking going on in the house...
We started with Chocolate Cake for the family birthday party - that ended up getting cancelled because of the snow!
What daddy - do I need to wipe off my face??
Little Honey really liked licking the spoon and tasting the batter. What - is there something on my face? He kept saying "Umm - Yummy!!" While doing schoolwork we were learning about the color BROWN last week. So we decided to make brown pretzels and mold them to the shape of our letter of the week. Here are some more pics -

< This picture is little honey smelling the dough. He has to smell everything!!

The pretzels didn't look like I thought they would, but they sure tasted great! We melted a little Velveeta cheese for dipping sauce and had a little party! What fun learning about BROWN!
